Hi, I am Caroline

I’m an accredited psychotherapist (MIAHIP) with additional training in play therapy, based in Dublin. Using psychotherapy, play and creative modalities I provide children, adolescents and families with support across the spectrum of needs; from mild adjustment, emotional and behavioural issues to more significant clinical issues such as disrupted attachments and history of neglect/abuse/trauma.

My approach is gentle, research based and tailored to the needs of each child/teen. I provide a safe and confidential space where children/teens can explore their feelings, work through challenges, and discover new ways of coping and regulating in a developmentally appropriate way.

I believe strongly in the power of the parent child relationship and work closely with parents throughout the process. I am fully insured, fully Garda vetted and engage in professional development on an ongoing basis.

I am a member of professional bodies including the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP), Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP) and Irish Association for Play Therapy and Psychotherapy (IAPTP) which ensure the highest standards of practice.

Does My Child Need Help?

It can be hard for parents to know when a child might benefit from professional support.

A useful guide is to ask yourself:

Are your child’s worries, behaviours, or feelings affecting their daily life for a prolonged period of time?
Is it impacting their relationships at home, school, or with friends
Do you feel unsure how best to support them on your own?

If the answer to these questions is yes, it may be time to talk with a professional. Reaching out doesn’t mean something is “wrong” with your child - All behaviour is communication and I can help you to understand the needs your child is communicating through their behaviours and to find ways to support those needs.
